ABSTRACT

The purpose. Description of the most illustrative cases of terminological inconsistency on the examples of translations of a number of English standards on labor protection in Ukrainian.

The methodology of research of cases of terminological inconsistency on the examples of translations of a number of English standards on labor protection provided by a combination of descriptive and comparative methods.

Research results. The variability of the transfer of the main terms in the field of labor protection in the Ukrainian language is determined.

Scientific value. The issue of translation of terminology on labor protection in the diachronic aspect is considered.

Practical value. Describes the key inconsistencies in occupational safety terminology that arise when translating standards from English and describes the possible difficulties in creating documentation based on them.
