ABSTRACT

Objective. Investigation of the processes for regulating renewable energy generation in the conditions of 0.4 kV distribution electric networks of industrial enterprises or individual settlements with of a low-power diesel generator and its operation in combination with the photovoltaic station and grid-tie inverters. Establishment of requirements and restrictions for the effective implementation of distributed generation for small industrial enterprises and household consumers of electric energy, energy cooperative in emergency backup modes of power supply of local electrical loads.

Research methodology. Analysis of the features of ensuring the operation of renewable energy sources in parallel with a diesel generator without disrupting the transmission of power supply in a disconnected network while maintaining the stability of the photovoltaic station’s inverter in parallel with a diesel generator. Analysis of the influence of the current inverter of a photovoltaic power plant on a diesel generator in a mode close to idling, as well as on the operating mode of a current inverter of a photovoltaic power station when the frequency of the diesel generator changes during a load surge and corresponding regulation of frequency and power. Justification of ways to solve the issue of technical support for the transition to backup power by use the automation with a special algorithm for starting the backup power system.

Findings. A method for the combined operation of decentralized energy sources in electrical distribution networks is proposed. The factors of influence on the modes of parallel operation of the system from two sources of electrical energy were analyzed. The system, in the absence of a regulator, does not provide static stability and requires automation of load shedding / loading processes under conditions of automated start and stop of a diesel unit.

The scientific originality lies in the development of a methodology for ensuring parallel operation modes of two decentralized energy sources with various properties and the possibility of balancing power due to forcing the generator engine in accordance with the frequency parameter.

The practical value lies in the possibility of the effective implementation of distributed generation for small industrial enterprises and household consumers of electric energy, energy cooperatives in emergency backup modes of power supply of local electrical loads.

Keywords: decentralized energy sources, grid-connected photovoltaic station, diesel generator, reserve power supply system.
